Spinnere, a new American textile manufacturing company, today announced the opening of its state-of-the-art yarn spinning facility in Alexander City, Alabama. The facility marks a significant step in reshoring textile production to the United States.
The 250,000-square-foot facility will produce up to 250,000 pounds of finished yarn weekly, serving fashion brands and manufacturers seeking domestic, high-quality yarn suppliers. The plant utilizes Rieter’s advanced spinning technology, allowing Spinnere to compete effectively against imported textiles while maintaining premium quality standards.
“This facility represents more than just manufacturing—it’s about rebuilding American textile capacity and creating good jobs in communities that built this industry.”
The Alabama location was selected for its proximity to cotton-producing regions, with the Southeast accounting for nearly 4 million bales of annual production. Spinnere will source long-staple cotton locally and regionally to meet premium fiber requirements.
The facility will employ 50 workers in its first year, with plans to expand to 100 employees by month 18. The company has committed to paying 50-70% above local market wages, creating significant economic impact in the region.
Spinnere’s capabilities include thread counts from Ne 10s to 70s across cotton, synthetics, and custom fiber blends. The company accepts custom jobs with a minimum run of 30,000 pounds and offers consulting on fiber engineering and production support.
